So what your saying in short please correct me if i'm wrong : is to uninstall Lotro, update my computer to Mojave the current Mac version from the App Store I think? Feb 11 , PM 6. Feb 12 , AM 7. I would rather upgrade to Mojave as my computer has lost some of the features that later updates have. And the file editing of Lotro is purely confusing, but it seems that the intended changes are already in place.
They are the Lotro client, Wine-preloader, and the Winepreloader. For some reason, some application named Python also opens up. All these files and names and programs just confuse me, lol Feb 12 , AM 8. Feb 12 , AM 9. Good to hear! I'll try a full backup before I update to Mojave.
Everything had installed, my resolution was lowered this time to x, that's the lowest on this computer , said no to DX10, logged in and hit "Play", and got the black screen. Because I don't have a touchpad on this computer, I couldn't tell at all that there was a dialog box but I knew there must have been. Mar 31 , AM Join Date Jun Posts I've tried to get Lotro work on my Mac for a week already I tried Parallels. No luck. The game crashed before it opened.
I tried Crossover. Then I decided to try Mac Bootcamp. Got it working with no problems at all. Game runs better than never before. Try it! Thanks to this thread and CrossOver I can and oddly the graphics seem sharper.
I also found I don't have to reduce my resolution. Now on to learning the game! May 20 , PM Join Date Apr Posts I'm pretty pissed.
I'm a die-hard Mac guy. SSG wants me to handicap the rest of my computing experience by not installing Catalina. They are a bunch of selfish rhymes-with-bricks. Fix this now. Originally Posted by Calblack. Join Date Aug Posts Originally Posted by Morellian.

I use Catalina for my work and general computer tasks but I keep a boot volume with Mojave for a number of applications I still want to use but which have not yet nor may ever be updated to bit. Rebooting to either system is quick and not much of a hassle at all. I downloaded the Mac installer from the game download page. The download and install proceeded with no problem although it took about 5 hours to complete thanks to slow network performance I was experiencing that day.
I am running the game at medium graphics at p and everything runs smoothly. SSG replied to a question I sent them with the information that they do not provide technical support for Mac users.
Jul 30 , PM I have no particular computer skills, just followed that post to the letter. I did NOT have to deal with any of the font issues, nor did I have to reduce the display resolution although I did while I was installing, everything now runs fine on normal resolution and suspect that it would have installed correctly as well. I also installed the hi-res version right from the start. Updated to Catalina and everything still works fine.
My plugins and UI customizations still work as well. Have not uninstalled the Mac client yet. And with plenty of space on my hard drive, I don't plan to. We will see what happens when there is an update! Aug 21 , AM Exactly why I rolled back to Mojave..
Not the only reason.. Aug 24 , PM Sep 03 , PM Join Date Feb Posts 1, When I get some time and energy, I'm going to try this myself. Originally Posted by Echoweaver.
