Just like Deidara was holding back from Killing Gaara. I think most people lost it when Jiraiya mentioned the scar on his chest and when right afterwards he mentioned the 4 tails I dont think that these two events are related rather I think that Jiraiya got injured when Naruto used "That Jutsu" and thus Jiraiya told him not to use it again. If Jiraiya's scar had been from KN 4tails then he would either be dead or not have a scar.
Cause if he took on the Kyuubi chakra ball he would be dead and I dont think that the scar would be caused by just a kyuubi chakra claw. It looks more of a rasengan or ball shaped scar so either it was that jutsu, rasengan or the kyuubi chakra ball so lets say if he took the kyuubi chakra ball head on lived to tell about it with a scar comparing Jiriaya to Oro would be like comparing naruto and konohamaru.
Of course Oro lost the Sannin fight. What I meant was: If we take a look at how Oro stacks up against Jiraiya based on that fight, Oro is the stronger shinobi. Oro was fighting on equal terms against Jiraiya and Tsunade nevermind the kids: Kabuto, Shizune, Naruto until the very end.
Oro and Jiraiya fought one on one for a bit and Jiraiya's ribs were cracked. Why make this thread now? Because we now know for sure that the black orb is the best KN4 can do. It is probably the black orb that got Jiraiya in the chest. Of course, he wasn't hit head on. He probably tried to block it but it still got through with less energy of course.

Itachi said, that if he and Kisame would fight Jiraya, they would both end up dead. And maybe they could kill Jiraya too. Still, they would be dead both ways. Oro thinks he's stronger than Jiraya.

Itachi let that happen. In fact Sasuke did not even break through Itachi's base genjutsu. Obito and Sasuke both confirm this later. The fight with Hebi Sasuke was done with just the basics. I am fairly sure the stats were just basic stats and did not include things like sharingban, byakugan or Sage Mode. No one dismisses Jiraiya's speed. Hebi Sasuke has faster feats, though they are on the same level and he gets much, faster by using the CS.
