Essay Sample Check Writing Quality. The main theme and name of the play was taken from Greek Myth, called "Pygmalion", which a beautiful woman sculpture became a real woman. In contrast, the main story of this play is that a young flower girl Eliza Doolittle became a duchess in the ambassador's party. During the play, she's changing in many ways from the start to at the end, and the changes of Eliza, the main theme of this play, should be mentioned in this essay.
When Eliza Doolittle appears herself in Chapter 1, she was just same shape as other low class people. She wore same thing as other low class people wear, and looks dirty because she did not wash her body. In linguistically, her pronunciation and grammar were terrible, and she has a London accent, so it was hard to understand her talking.
However, although she was lower class people, she was always proud, and did not afraid to the other person. This quote expresses how she thinks herself; "I'm good girl, I am! When they met first time at the portico of the church, Henry Higgins and Colonel Pickering did not have so much interest in Eliza, but only a common flower girl.
It was same feeling to the mother and the daughter who met Eliza at first. She started to change in chapter 2, after Professor Higgins accepted to teach her. Higgins ordered to Mrs. Pearce to clean and wash up Eliza, and her dirty appearance and cloths were disappeared. In physically, she was tu It was a serious gap for her. When her appearance changed a lot in many ways, her mind did not change so much.
She still had strong mind on her, even after education for became a lady. That's why she was left Professor Higgins who did not mind on her, and married with Freddy, who care her more lovely than Professor Higgins.

My Fair Lady - How is Eliza transformed from a 'squashed cabbage leaf' into Pearce takes her upstairs for a bath. While Mrs. Pearce and Eliza are away, Pickering wants to be sure that Higgins' intentions towards the girl are honorable, to which Higgins replies that, to him, women "might as well be blocks of wood. Pearce enters to warn Higgins that he should be more careful with his swearing and his forgetful table manners now that they have an impressionable young lady with them, revealing that Higgins's own gentlemanly ways are somewhat precarious.
At this point, Alfred Doolittle, who has learned from a neighbor of Eliza's that she has come to the professor's place, comes a-knocking under the pretence of saving his daughter's honor.
When Higgins readily agrees that he should take his daughter away with him, Doolittle reveals that he is really there to ask for five pounds, proudly claiming that he will spend that money on immediate gratification and put none of it to useless savings. Amused by his blustering rhetoric, Higgins gives him the money.
Eliza enters, clean and pretty in a blue kimono, and everyone is amazed by the difference. Even her father has failed to recognize her.
Eliza is taken with her transformation and wants to go back to her old neighborhood and show off, but she is warned against snobbery by Higgins. The act ends with the two of them agreeing that they have taken on a difficult task.
Even though Higgins is immediately obvious as the Pygmalion figure in this play, what this act reveals is that there is no way his phonetic magic could do a complete job of changing Eliza on its own. What we see here is that Mrs.
